4 Steps: Add an Admin to Facebook

Social media is often overlooked by busy professionals. We get it. We also know that is a big mistake so whether you enlist us to help you or have someone on your team to handle it, keep reading and then feel the joy of delegating.

1. Go to your page and click on "Settings" on the top right in the menu bar, directly above your banner image. A new page will open with a list of options in a left-hand column. Click on the one called "Page Roles."

2. In the new content page that opens, scroll down to "Assign a New Page Role" and enter the name or email of the person you want to have access. This is so they can log in from their own Facebook and you do not have to share your login and password with them.

3. When you enter a name, their Facebook profile picture will pop up and you can select them if you are sure you have the right person. If you aren't sure, you can add their email instead.

If making someone an admin, they will get notification or invitation via email from Facebook to confirm they want to be an admin. They are able to control Page Roles as an admin so you may want to make them an Editor instead.

4. You can set how much access you give them with the drop-down menu button next to where you enter their name or email address:

  • Admin - access to everything

  • Editor - access to everything except assigning page roles

  • Moderator - able to send messages as the page, respond to and delete comments, ban viewers, create ads and boosts, and view insights. They cannot edit the pages, create posts, manages jobs or job features.

  • Advertiser, Analyst and Jobs Manager have narrow access, and we can help you determine if these are necessary based on your Facebook volume.

If you need to remove or adjust the page roll of someone who has access, scroll down to "Existing Page Rolls" and click the "edit" button next to the person listed. You can then use the drop-down menu to change their role, or below their name/image, you can select "remove."
